Teaching Philosophy

To laugh often and love much; to win the respect of intelligent persons and the affection of children; to earn the approbation of honest citizens and endure the betrayal of false friends; to appreciate beauty; to find the best in others; to give of one's self; to leave the world a bit better, whether by a healthy child, a garden patch, or a redeemed social condition; to have played and laughed with enthusiasm and sung with exultation; to know even one life has breathed easier because you have lived... this is to have succeeded. -- Attributed to Ralph Waldo Emerson

This quote emphasizes my thoughts on what a great teacher should do. I will provide lessons that are both engaging and challenging to each individual. I know each student will come to my class with their own set of abilities, motivations, attitudes, goals, and cultural background. Getting to know these various facets of my students will allow me to excel as a teacher allowing me to tap into their talents, resources, and knowledge to make the classroom dynamic, and personal.
I want to use students' natural curiosity and energy as much as possible. Every student will have the opportunity to share their knowledge and abilities in class. I want to channel the energy of these young adults and put it to positive experiences in the classroom. I am rewarded every time I plan a lesson that utilizes students' individual talents and skills. These lessons energize me, and they inspire me to think about teaching and learning in new ways. Above all I will ensure a safe learning environment for my students.

*Marketing Mission statement*

Marketing education is a program of study designed to prepare individuals for initial and continuing employment and education in marketing, management and entrepreneurship. Another mission is to build an understanding of the wide range of social and economic responsibilities that accompany the right to engage in marketing in a free enterprise system.
